If you're coming over from the Patreon, THANK YOU for your continued support and interest.
Your support on this project has been incredibly important to us, and has not only kept us energized during a very big undertaking, but in some cases has been absolutely vital.
If you're new to Longplay Games, welcome aboard! We are excited to have you with us, and I hope you'll enjoy the loads of content we produce as we march towards a finished game.
Up Next:
First and foremost - the monthly rewards that you had on patreon will not vanish. Your wallpapers are all there, ready to grab. The book chapters from Smugglers of Cygnus: Odatria are on the forum, nicely organized and ready for you. The Final Lap book isn't there yet, as we're working on getting it into print and digital publication. It will be available in ebook format to every backer when it's done, and Commodores will be able to get a signed print edition for free, if they choose. Your avatars are on the forum, handy and ready to grab. Audiobook chapters are being worked on, as they were hard to use before, and need a rethink to be useful.
Secondly - There's a lot more coming! We'll be done with Odatria soon, and that will be going off to start the print and ebook process. More wallpapers, 1 per month, of course. More audiobook chapters (once I resolve their long-standing tech issues). Lots more videos and patch streams, backer-specific and subscriber-specific things of the same nature as before.
Why the move? Well, as you know from prior discussions, Patreon's cut kept expanding while the quality of service diminished. Things that were easy once became difficult, and things that had been possible became a real stretch. The final nail in the coffin was the giant Apple cut of 30% extra for an app we didn't need. We also felt that patreon was stifling the community building efforts by segregating users into a "patreon group" and a "forum group" and a "matrix chat group". Hopefully now people will be able to interact with each much more freely, and it'll be trivial to do things that couldn't even be done before (such as distributing game/product keys, searching for rewards, leaderboards, tourneys, giveaways, patchnotes and integrations).
I hope you all have a great time, and keep flying!
